Orthodontic treatment
Orthodontics is a branch of dentistry concerned with the growth of the teeth, jaws and face. This treatment is not just about making the best of your teeth, it's about improving the harmony of the mouth and the jaws. When these are correctly positioned, eating becomes more comfortable and you can care for your teeth and gums more easily. Furthermore, a beautiful smile, being one of the most prominent facial features, can enhance self-esteem and the overall feeling of happiness.
Orthodontic treatment often involves straightening or adjusting the position of the teeth to improve their appearance and protect their functionalityIf the teeth are crowded, crooked, or are growing in the wrong position, orthodontic treatment can help space them out more evenly and bring these teeth into their correct location.
It is a common misconception that orthodontic treatment is only carried out in children. Some adults have orthodontic treatment as part of an overall comprehensive dental treatment plan in conjunction with other specialist procedures to improve dental function and aesthetics. Many choose to combine orthodontic treatment with having crowns, veneers, bridges or implants, in which case orthodontic braces could often help achieve a much superior outcome.
Invisible and removable braces
These are the most discreet braces available on the market. This method is great for those in the public eye who want to have straight teeth, but cannot bear the thought of having visible braces. Invisible braces are very comfortable and don’t impact on your speech; they are also removable and can be taken out for that important business meeting or a special occasion.
Invisalign
In the clinic we only use proven techniques, such as Invisalign. The system utilises the latest in computerised technology and three-dimensional modelling to generate a series of see-through aligners which are made of medical grade plastic, only millimetres thin. The clear aligners are specially fabricated to fit your teeth exactly, and over time, they move your teeth into a position that gives you a natural-looking, straight smile. The aligner itself needs to be changed approximately every two weeks as your teeth adjust to the correct position. For best results these aligners need to be worn 22 hours a day; and the full treatment may take six months to a year.
